European Flair

Hello everyone!

First let me thank everyone who visited my guest post on my sister's blog last weekend!  All of your kind comments were so nice to read.  I think it will be a fun series to follow in the future, won't it?

Have you been watching the Olympics?  We sure have and it has been a lot of fun to cheer for team USA!  Of course, with it being held in London,  I've been spying a lot of union jack patterns everywhere.  I just added a touch of it to my sitting room.

Isn't it cute?!  It's my first piece of union jack trend in my house.  Ha!  It's a burlap bench from Target that was on clearance.  I couldn't resist.

You may recall I have one similar to it with writing on it.  That moved to the kitchen, which I will show in another post soon.

For now, this little bit of union jack brings some European flair to this room.

I also found a couple of down filled french script pillows that I loved. I added them to these chairs in here.

Here is a close-up.

Tomorrow, is open house at my youngest son's school.  We'll get a chance to find his classroom and meet his teacher.  He will be starting 5th grade.

I can't believe that school starts back this Thursday! (I think it is strange to start on a Thursday anyway.)   Where did the summer go?  It went by too fast.    So, you know what I'll be doing this week.......school meeting, school supply shopping, and lunch packing.  Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

I love all your pillows. My favorite are the French postcard pillows. I am a sucker for writing.I am finishing up some hand lettered pillows right now.

Your new Union Jack bench is really cute and looks so good with your secretary. Love those down pillows. Down filled ones are my favorites, always so squishy and comfy.
We've been watching the Olympics a lot, too. USA, USA!

Great job on the stool. I have a weakness for the scripted pillows. Got 2 scripted lampshades and I am looking for burlap or linen ones for the other lamps in the dining room, and sofa table.
Beautiful!

Th Union Jack stool goes well in your space and I know you got a bargain at Target (one of my favorite stores). I bought Joe a Union Jack covered pouf for his very large feet and it doubles as a seat. xoxo, Olive

What a great little stool! I never see anything worth a flip at our Target, but I do when I visit in other cities. Wonder why?

I also noticed the really cute lampshade with the buttons -- did you make that? Love it!

Great stool, Kelly! Love the pillows, too. In New York, the kids don't go back to school until the week of Labor Day, usually the Wednesday. Then again, they don't get out until the end of June, so I guess it probably works out to the same amount of days. I think they go back early here in Ohio, too, but since my kids are grown I don't know.

Cute union jack bench. I would have snatched it up as well. I love all those pillows too.
My daughter and I are going shopping in a couple of weeks somewhere in NY. Not sure where we will end up.
I'm hoping there will be a target store there.
