Fun Finds for Less than $8

Hello everyone!

How is your week going so far?  Mine is going pretty good.  We finally got some much needed rain last night.  It's amazing how much better things look outside once it rains.  It has been so dry and hot here that we could really use a lot more rain actually.  What a contrast from last summer!

I wanted to share a couple of small new things that I found that prove that it's not always the expensive things that put a smile on your face.  These were all less than $8 each and can most likely be found at a store near you too!

First, I found these cute galvanized letters at Michael's.

They can be hung on a wall or used standing up as I've done.  I'm using them as bookends.  You can choose any letter of the alphabet too.

I chose X and O for "hugs and kisses" or "tic tac toe".

Then at Home Goods, I found this cute little wooden mortar and pestle. I've always loved them (even though I don't really use them).  Silly, I know.

My husband and I are planning on doing a major garage/basement clean-up this weekend.  Can't wait to have it all done!  Guess, it's getting close to Fall cleaning now huh?

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

Great finds and thanks for the tips. Love the xo and I'm the same way about mortar and pestles..like the look but don't use one. Great prices, too.

The XO is so perfect!! I was just at HobLob and looked at letters but they didn't have our initials. XO is a great idea.

It feels so good to clean common areas like the garage. A few weeks ago we did ours, including emptying the whole thing out and power washing the floor. It's wonderful and we are determined to keep it that way for awhile. :)

Love the letter Kelly. They look so cute on the shelf. Terry and I just did that big clean out last week end. Big job but so worth it. Good luck.

Nice additions and we still haven't had but a sprinkle and need the rain badly. It is black out now, but will probably just sprinkle again and move on.

Love the letters!! Might have to check them out at the Michael's here.
We are about to make a mess in our yard. Have some dead trees that need to be taken down and I'm not looking forward to the clean up after the trees are down.

Kelly,

What a great idea using the letters for bookends...I never would have thought of that. And I LOVE them, I have to see if our Michael's have them. Keep up the great ideas!

Love the galvanized letters! The XO was a cute idea! I'm attracted to mortar and pestle pieces too but don't use them. My son and his wife are very gourmet and take over my kitchen when home so I should get one! Good luck with the weekend cleanup! I did a bunch of that recently- no fun but feels good in the end!

I love the mortar and pestle! It looks great in your kitchen. I've never seen galvanized letters like that. I love how Michael's is always on trend with the latest things. I'll have to check them out.

I saw those letters when they first came out but I didn't have a coupon, so I left them. Now I am kicking myself (figuratively) because the '&' that I want will probably be gone. I wonder if they ship....
