A Romantic Mirror

Hello everyone!

I don't know what the weather is in your hometown, but in mine, it is downright mild and warm!  It feels like it's Spring outside (minus the pretty flowers and green grass).  I've even got allergies right now too.  Who knew?!

But, I'm not going to complain about it because it really is gorgeous weather and who doesn't like that?  So, what if I won't be getting a white Christmas and I'll be wearing short sleeves during the day?  This is the south afterall!

But enough about that.  I wanted to share a new gorgeous mirror that I picked up at Hobby Lobby the other day while it was half price.  I have been coveting this mirror for some time and I finally got the nerve up to buy it!  I decided to hang it above my fireplace (where everything new seems to go at first).  So, that meant a few changes to my Christmas decor as a result.  This may be the 3rd time I've changed this mantel this month.  But whose counting?

Well here she is in all her new finery.

I almost didn't want to put the pom pom wreath on it because it's too pretty to cover up.  But, I did.  It is Christmas and I do love my pom poms, don't I?

Speaking of pom poms, did you notice my new pom pom garland?  Well, it's actually called wool felt ball garland but it looks like pom poms to me.  I love the daintiness of it.

I found it on Etsy and decided it wouldn't compete too much with the stockings so I used it on my mantel.  I really love it!

Now, back to my new mirror.  Here is a close up.

It's huge and very heavy!  I decided to just prop it up.  I didn't use any greenery next to it because I didn't want to cover up it's curvy lines at the bottom.

Now, I know I just had the cow picture that my sister gave me hanging up here before Christmas. But don't worry, it is hanging in another nice spot in the house.  I will share that another time.  I wouldn't dare part with it!

This mirror is a hard color to describe too.  It's more of a champagne cream to me.  I love how the edges of the scroll marking are darkened too for contrast.

Oh and one more good thing happened recently!  I finally got my slip covered sofa delivered to replace the upholstered one they sent out by mistake last time.

Now, I can relax more about this sofa since this one isn't being returned.  I am anxious to get another one now to replace my old sofa.

Well that is about it!  I hope that you are winding down for Christmas like I am.  It will be here next week!  I'm ready to start the fun stuff now like baking and looking at Christmas lights.

Thanks for stopping by.

~ Kelly ~

Warm here too, no snow on the ground, but it's the north so it could change any day. In fact it can change almost as quick as your mantel!

I live in Florida so I know what you mean about the warm weather. The room looks lovely, the mirror is the icing on the cake.

That mirror is gorgeous! I was just telling my hubby this weekend that I want a pretty mirror to put on a wall in the dining room. I originally had a trio of sunburst mirrors there, but I'm getting tired of them. I might have to check out Hobby Lobby soon. I also like your new garland. So delicate and pretty and it goes so well with your decor. I'm excited about starting the fun part of baking, wrapping, and looking at lights too. Can't believe it's almost here!

I wish my home would accommodate a mirror like that so beautifully. That style is right up my alley, but I'll just live vicariously through you instead,

It's unseasonably warm here in Mass. too, but I'm definitely not complaining!

Big goopy mirrors are one of my most favorite things! This one has great lines. The fancy mirrors are the first thing I head for in an estate sale (or any kind of sale!).

I rearranged my outdoor twinkle lights! lol They were bugging me and after I switched them around a bit I felt so much better. So I'm certainly not counting - I enjoy seeing your different looks!

And I love your new addition. The mirror adds some drama to your space and it's a lovely focal point. Love the garland too. xo

it has been in the 60's here in Ohio for several days. But they say the cold weather is coming. As much as I like snow, this has been nice.
Your home looks really cozy and peaceful. I really like the mirror. I may have to stop by H.B. I live about a mile from there.....not a good thing. Hugs

Your new mirror looks beautiful propped on the mantel! I love to prop because it makes it easier to move when you get the urge. :-)

This room is so beautiful no matter what is on the fireplace, but the mirror is definitely a nice fit for the room. I bet you are enjoying the extra seating too.
