Vintage Floral Tablecloth

Hello everyone!

Are you having a good weekend so far?  It has been extremely hot and sticky here, so I'm staying inside near the air conditioner.

I wanted to show you my latest love.  I found this vintage floral tablecloth at an antique store and decided to use it on my table in the kitchen.

I've actually folded it in half so it's more like a runner now.

The reason is because it doesn't fit my table.  Here it is all spread out so you can see the whole pattern.

It doesn't matter that it doesn't fit.  I will use it as an accent piece anyway.  I fell in love with the blue and white pattern.  I've been seeing a lot of pretty patterns lately.  I wouldn't mind starting a collection.

But for now, I will enjoy looking at it over my morning coffee.

Do you collect vintage tablecloths?

Thanks for stopping by.

~ Kelly ~

That's gorgeous, Kelly. I don't collect them but think about it every time I see them. The colors are always kind of washed out and pretty.

As a matter of fact I DO have a collection of vintage tablecloths and napkins! I am just now taking down the red/white/blue things and will be using some of them until the end of August when I can start my FALL decorating!!!
Your blue roses goes right with your love of the greys.....

Love this vintage table cloth. You are really adding a lot of blue. I just started to add blue to my creams and whites too. I am kind of liking the blues coming in. Love this pretty table runner you made.

I love it. Your tablecloth is gorgeous. It was a great find. You can use it as a table topper too and the idea to fold it and use it as a runner is very clever. Enjoy it for years to come.

Hi Kelly! Your table is so pretty and your floral table cloth is lovely. It is perfect for summer or can be used on a dreary winter day to lift your spirit:) Vintage finds are always so special. Gently worn, a bit rough around the edges .. love it! ~leslie

I have a small collection which I use every day on my breakfast table. One of them belonged to my mom and one was a wedding gift 57 years ago. I simply put a white or colored cloth that matches or blends under them since they are smaller than today's table. I enjoy them not only to look at but to use. About three years ago, my husband came home with three vintage Christmas tablecloths he had found at a garage sale. I already had two, so during the holidays they get changed so I can enjoy all of them. I hope you young ladies continue to love and appreciate things of the past.

Kelly,

I have that exact same tablecloth that was just given to me. It was my aunts. Hers has a yellow stain which I have several remedies to try. I never thought of using it as a runner! Great idea especially if I can not get out the stain!:)I have a few more of my Mother's and Grandmother's.

Blessings

I love your vintage tablecloth.

Yes, I do collect vintage tablecloths, but I have only purchased a few. Most of mine were stolen from my mother's linen closet over the years. I have wonderful memories of each cloth and family picnics.

I don't collect vintage tablecloths, but I do think they're very pretty. I love all the blue accents you've been adding lately. And why didn't I ever think to fold one of my tablecloths in half to use as a runner? Very smart! :)

I used to have one very similar Kelly! Love it on your table!

Love the blue/white addition to your dining area, Kelly! It adds a touch of vintage sweetness. :) I don't use tablecloths very often. Hubby isn't a neat coffee drinker. lol

I love your table cloth, Kelly! I use them to make pillows with. The boarders make cute ruffles for the pillows. They sell well in my booth.

Oh yes, I have a small collection, too. They are fun to make into accent pillows as well - that is, if they are worthy of cutting up. LOVE yours!!! The blue and white just says summertime.
