Accessorizing my Cabinet

Happy Easter Weekend!

I meant to post this yesterday, but my day got very busy.  I was getting prepared for Easter by doing a little bit of baking.

I decided to make some changes to the glass cabinet in my family room.  Since everything else changed around in here, why should this cabinet be left out right?

For the longest time, it has been filled with white serving pieces.  But, I decided to throw a little bit of blue color in with it to freshen it up.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of glare from the window nearby.  Sorry about that.  But, hopefully, you can see past that.  I added some of my blue and white grain sacks under a tureen.

And a blue and white striped throw under another one.

Then I added this blue fabric covered box in place of another tureen.

Here is a shot with the door open so there isn't so much glare.

I love this little bit of color in here to tie in with the rest of the room.

I have still been experimenting with furniture placement, color schemes etc. in this room.  I am getting closer to finally being happy with it!  I'm so indecisive.  Hopefully, I'm not boring you to death with all of my repetitive changes.  At least you can see how many options I can choose from!

Oh, and here is what I baked for our Easter celebration this weekend.

Coconut Cake

Chocolate Cupcakes (topped with Easter candy)

We will be celebrating with my husband's family.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter and are getting some pretty weather as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

If you know me, you know coconut is my all time favorite thing to eat. I buy anything and everything related to coconut, even coconut body lotion! If I send you my address, can I have a piece? ;) The cupcakes look so good too! oerfect for Easter!

I love the fabrics you've incorporated into the cabinets Kelly, and of course, who doesn't love blue and white? So classic!

Enjoy!

Hi Kelly,
I have always admired your cabinet and your gorgeous Ironstone collection. Where did you find your cabinet?

I currently have an smaller corner display cabinet but need a bigger one as I have outgrown it and would like to find one similar to yours.

BTW... that coconut cake looks delicious!!

First of all, those chocolate cupcakes look delicious! And that coconut cake! Definitely one of my favorites! Yum! You're so good at adding in bits of color here and there to achieve the look you want. I'm learning a lot from all your recent posts. You've got me thinking outside the box of different things to bring in to add color. Love all the blue! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter!

The touches of blue do add a nice fresh look to your white! I love the grain sacks. I've been searching high and low for a few (red) but I just don't think any of them made it to AZ :) Enjoy your Easter, may it be filled with love and Blessings, Cindy

I love what you've done with the grainsacks and the blanket. Wish I had more than one grainsack:) I baked some Easter cupcakes, too. I don't know about you but I've always found baking to be therapeutic! And that coconut cake looks like it's to die for. Hope you're having a happy and blessed Easter Sunday.

Oh my. You know how I have loved your cabinets and displays so dearly.... Your adding colour feels like non- colour. And that's a good thing. It blends in with the greys, and whites and grain of neutrals that's its colour without being so much that you notice it first without seeing everything else. It's perfect.

As for the cake and cupcakes I almost feel like stealing them and posting them as mine lol! Just joking but serious at the same time. We over here, my daughter and I love cocnut on everything sweet. We look for reasons to eat cocnut, and your cake looks like a wonderfully tasting dessert.

Happy Easter.
